my (mini) NYX Cosmetics collection to date

Dearest Ladies,

Yesterday night I posted about one of the first NYX items I got: the stay matte but not flat powder foundation – click (on the name) to see what I think about it, but I’ll give you a hint: I’ve hit pan.

A while ago I wrote about our own NYX store in Malta and we were also invited to a bloggers’ night. You can read more about the event here: NYX Cosmetics made it to Malta! – bloggers’ event. I bought the Curve eyeliner that night which I really love. We were also given a lovely goodie bag with a number of different products. I haven’t used all of them yet… as I said yesterday, I am now trying to finish a number of products. I will be getting to the rest of the NYX stash when I’ve cleared up a few other products. But these below are all of my NYX products to date:

My NYX loves 🙂

And here are a few photos of some of the products… (You can see more photos here)

Do you have and use any of the items I have? Have you been to NYX in Sliema yet? What are you waiting for? 🙂

Don’t forget to like all.things.lady on Facebook to get daily updates and fun shares throughout the day!

P.S. Just leave a comment if you’d like the name or shade number of any of these products 😉

stay matte but not flat powder foundation – NYX

Dearest Ladies,

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I finally sat down and I am blogging again, but I am feeling a little rusty. As I said before, I wish I could write more often but it’s been rather hectic lately. I am back at uni and I’m trying to re-adjust to student life. Oh, and the dissertation is now moving forward, or should be… !

Today I am going to talk about one of my favourite products. I bought this product when in London with fellow bloggers Martina (check out her blog here) and Marija (check out her blog here). As you know, we went to IMATS this year and I also wrote about my experience in London on this blog (here and here). One of the stands at the trade show was NYX Cosmetics and it was the last one I visited! There were a lot of other brands, mostly high-end and obviously quite expensive, but NYX was (and is) the most affordable of them all.

One has to keep in mind that NYX hadn’t opened in Malta yet! It is now open in Sliema. If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the post in which I told you all about the bloggers’ event: right here! (It’s one of my most viewed posts).

Anyway… to get to the point…

When in London, I got a number of NYX items including their HD foundation, which I still have to try and “test”. I also got this amazing product:
The stay matte but not flat powder foundation.

The handbag essential!

To be honest, I don’t even know why I bought it… I had never even tried powder foundation and I didn’t even know if I’d like it. The brand was new to me, and so was the fact that this foundation is a powder one. But as it turned out, I LOVE it! This has been my favourite product all summer… and this is why:

Pros

  • Gives good coverage (I didn’t expect that much coverage!)
  • Does the job – stays matte
  • Feels lovely on your skin
  • Very easy to apply
  • Doesn’t take time to apply either
  • Sleek packaging
  • + sponge that fits in a separate ‘compartment’ at the bottom
  • Good selection of shades
  • Perfect for touch ups
  • Compact comes with a handy mirror which is perfect for on-the-go application

It is definitely a handbag essential (especially in Malta… because of the sticky weather)! This has been in my handbag from day 1.

I am not kidding when I say “I have no CONS for this product”. It is seriously amazing and I am so glad it was my first try at powder foundations: NYX got it right on the first time – I do not even need to try out other brands 🙂

And this week: I hit pan! I can assure you that I will definitely repurchase this before I run out of it completely. I haven’t been buying make up, I decided to use up what I have before getting more, but this is the first item on my list! I hope you enjoyed this post, I’ll be posting another post featuring NYX cosmetics soon – this time I’ll be showing you my (mini) NYX Cosmetics collection to date.

Have a lovely weekend ladies!

Love,
M.

Storage Space for Everyday Makeup

Dearest Ladies,

My friend picked me up today and we ran some errands. She needed to buy some make up storage, you know the acrylic clear ones. I didn’t need any… But you know me, and organisation never hurt anyone, right? Consider this post as my Favourite of the Week. Some past posts of this kind are this and this which will be linked later on.

And there it is! I cost €15.95 from Homemate and me and Sarah (from My Place in the Kitchen) discussed which one/s to get cause there were lots of different ones and different sizes too! We agreed this was the best one for our needs after some time and by the way, the top part can be separated from the little drawers, so it makes it a little bit more handy. Sarah got two, to fit most of her stuff in, and I got one to fit in my everyday make up (and a little big more!)

I blurred the photo and it looks weird, but I had a creepy face which I will spare you all from seeing! Just look at how much it can actually hold! There are a number of brushes (Real Techniques) which I use every day, my eyebrow/lash brushes (from e.l.f), foundation (from Bourjois), primers (from Catrice and Wjcon), mascara (by Bourjois which I reviewed here) and a number of lipsticks on top, including my new favourite Lip Cream by NYX. In the first drawer I have my MUA Loose Powder (which I reviewed here), concealer which I do not use daily, and the Natural Glow by K Co which I got from London.IMAG0618The second drawer has some single eye shadows, a couple of blushers and the Jumbo Eyeshadow sticks from e.l.f, as well as a Wjcon one. All in all, it fits more than the essentials for every day make up. God forbid I needed all this every single day! I actually use less and less products every day, especially now that it is getting very hot in Malta. I might actually do a summer make up look soon, using, the bare minimum, so stay tuned for that! P.S. That red thing you see on the side is a beauty blender dupe, it’s working, but it is cracking and I only used it 3 times! I will review it and compare it with the original Beauty Blender which I got from London but haven’t used yet.

Earlier this year I showed you my LIDL make up storage space, which you can see and read all about here. That one holds the rest of my stuff, especially the things I only reach for sometimes, but definitely not everyday. Oh, and this is my nail polish collection right here. Let me warn you,  I am obsessed, but I haven’t broken the ban yet 😉

Do you like my new storage space? Quite handy and neat, right? Would you go for something similar?

I’ll be back tomorrow.

Love,
M.

Review for MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder

Hey Ladies!

Today I realized that I haven’t reviewed any products in almost a week! And I have a lot more unreviewed items in my collection. So I am back with my second MUA review from this first haul right here. My first MUA review was this one here for the Magnetic Nail Polish.

Today I will be reviewing one of the face products that I got. I will be talking about the MUA Matte Perfect Loose Powder. At the moment MUA are having a 3 for 2 offer on all new face products… so stay tuned if you are thinking about placing an order.

This product is from their Matte Perfect range and it is the only product I have tried from this range so far. This is what the product looks like and what I really think about it…

DSCF8012 DSCF8013

Pros

  • Gives a matte, almost air-brushed finish
  • Doesn’t look white on the skin
  • Doesn’t make you look pale when using flash
  • Doesn’t change the colour of your foundation
  • Doesn’t turn orange or make you foundation blotchy over time…
  • Isn’t messy even though it is a loose powder
  • Doesn’t break the bank

Cons

  • Not completely translucent – It has a light colour which might make it look strange on darker skin tone girls.

The all.things.lady Verdict:

Awesome product!

I am so glad I got this… I really really love it and I use it daily to set foundation and concealer. Will repurchase this one for sure!

Did you try any other products from this range? Which ones would you say are worth a try?
Let me know

Hey Ladies,

Last week I had my birthday and I organized a picnic with a bunch of friends. I wanted to look good but keep the makeup simple as it was only a picnic and we were all in jeans and sneakers! The look is similar to this one here, except for the mascara and lipstick. This is my go to look lately.

This is what I went for:
