Review for PUPA Milano BB cream for Combination to Oily Skin

Dearest Ladies,

Today I will be reviewing yet another BB Cream by PUPA Milano. I recently received a few products from Medimports, the agents for PUPA Milano here in Malta and was given the option to choose a BB Cream from their range. I chose the BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin.

02

I have mentioned the Pupa Milano Professionals BB Cream + Anti-Eta’ in two posts featuring favourite products, in this post here, and here. I have really enjoyed using it and found that it was perfect for everyday use.

05

I must say that while I like the Anti-Eta’ cream, I prefer the BB Cream for Combination to Oily Skin. It gives a matte effect without having the need to set it. Now my skin is quite on the dry/dehydrated side these days but I still found it to be perfect. While it gives a matte finish, it is not drying at all. Here is a photo of me wearing it (without powder and concealer, to test out its longevity and coverage):

01

I find that it has a blur effect on my skin and covers up some imperfections. It has a faint smell to it which I don’t mind, even though I usually prefer fragrance free face products. Here’s a swatch of the shade 001 NUDE:

03

And here’s how it looks after blending it out with my hands.

04

The only downside to this product is that there are only two shades even though it seems to adapt to one’s skin tone. In fact at first glance I thought the lightest shade was still a tad dark for me but as time went by it seems to have adapted.

This BB Cream has SPF 20 and is oil free which is something I really enjoy.  It is also non-comedogenic and paraben free. It claims to also be a primer but I have never tried it using it in this way.

This product retails at €15.95 and can be found at Evans Pharmacy Qormi and other leading Pharmacies in Malta.

This has become my go to product for whenever I want some coverage but something light on my skin that feels like I have nothing on! It’s a product you must try and I’m very confident you’d love it.

Have you ever used PUPA Milano BB Creams? What are your thoughts about them?

Until my next post…

Love,
M.

A Perfect Foundation Brush from ebay

Dearest Ladies,

I am typing this post in a different setting… I am currently in hospital for observation (and I am bored stiff!) so I thought why not post something?  I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while but I planned on taking photos of course. Since I have no access to the brush and camera and am not in the most appropriate environment, I decided to post anyway but use the photos used in the listing.

01

I’ve seen this brush mentioned in a number of videos on YouTube and I decided to give it a go. It only cost me around 2 euro so I wouldn’t have been super disappointed if it did not perform. But well, it DOES! I love the fact that it’s roundish to flat and that the handle is a thick one. The handle is good as it provides a good grip. The bristles are soft and very nicely packed. As a brush it is rather dense.

03

It feels soft on the skin and is perfect for really buffing the foundation in. I’ve only used it for foundation but I think it could double for other uses too. So far I have seen no shedding and I’m super happy with the way it gives a natural finish.

02

The brush itself does not look or feel cheap. The one I got doesn’t have a name on it like the one in the first picture. The gold metal bit makes it look more chic, gives it a nice touch and makes it nicer to look at.04The brush came in a brush guard which is not of the best quality but does a decent job at protecting the bristles while travelling.

Are you convinced yet? Here is the like of the listing where I got it from: http://ebay.to/1X9QS9P
I suggest you try it out as it is really worth it and surprisingly good at the price.

Let me know if you have it or if you decided to get it in the comment section 😉

My Current Favourites

Dearest Ladies,

Today I’m back with a post about my current favourite products. Some of them might be relatively new in my collection, while others are products that I rediscovered.

Take a look at the products I’m going to mention today…

1

The first product I’m going to mention is one that I had also mentioned in my most recent “Favourite products at the time” post.

Pupa Milano Professionals BB Cream + Anti-Eta’

This product has become my go to product. I use this everyday especially because I usually want something lighter than foundation for everyday but would still like a little bit of coverage. I’m also happy about the fact that it has SPF30. Oh, and it smells fantastic!

2

Clinians HYDRA BASIC Moisturizing Mattifying Face Cream with Apple Water and Zinc

I bought this product on a whim… I urgently needed something moisturizing for my under eyes but as I was looking I saw this face cream and thought it might be a good idea to try it out as well. The product comes in a small glass jar and the cream itself is a pale green. It feels very refreshing on the skin and has a faint fresh smell which I can’t quite put my finger on. I don’t always use this in the morning but when I do, it gets absorbed by the skin rather quickly.

3

ELIE SAAB le parfum

This was a gift… one of those gifts that I hinted for 😛 I had tried a tester of this perfume and totally fell in love with it and then came the next Christmas or Birthday… and as I had hoped, I got it as a present. I’m not very good at describing perfumes but I can say that it has a sophisticated scent.

4

I strongly suggest that you go to your closest perfumery and try this out especially if you want to give a loved one a gift they’ll enjoy.

Essence lipliner  shade: 11 in the nude

I apologize but I couldn’t photograph this one well because the text is starting to wear off off the pencil. This is a very basic nude lipliner which I am currently really enjoying using on its own. Stays on for quite a while and looks just right with my skintone. I will definitely try to take a picture the next time I wear it. Oh, and since it was from essence I’m sure it was a steal!

Essence liquid ink eyeliner

I thought I’d give this a try after having seen many bloggers saying good things about it. It has a simple brush applicator that does the job well and is easy to use if you want detail and precision. While I have never tried it myself, there is also the waterproof version of this which comes in blue/black packaging.

KIKO Milano Soft Focus Concealer in shade: 02

I bought this when I was abroad as I had ran out or forgotten to take concealer. I remember the salesman putting it on me after a day full of shopping. I was tired and this definitely gave my undereyes a little wake me up. It’s a pretty regular concealer, nothing out of this world but it does the job. Reminds me of the Catrice Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer since the packaging is identical except that for this one you press the bottom of the pen instead of twisting it.

7

8

e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

I had this for ages and at the moment I am going through a phase where I’m trying not to buy any new makeup unless I really have to. I have therefore ran out of most of my blushes and decided to give this a try once again. I actually love the blusher. I am not usually keen on shimmer but it doesn’t bother me in this one and I have been using it daily. In a way it highlights the face as well.

I haven’t been using the bronzing powder it comes with because it is also shimmery which is something I’m not sure I can live with.

9

10

P.S. This is the first one e.l.f. had. If I remember correctly, after this one they had a range of similar duos in different shades and some of them were cream products.

MAC lipstick in JIST

11

This is by far my most favourite lipstick in my collection. It is the only MAC one but is always the one that saves the day. When I am in doubt about what colour to go for, I go for this. It’s perfect with a dark smokey eye look. This is a frost lipstick and I think goes very well with my complexion especially now that my hair is more coppery toned.

That’s all I have to say for today! I hope you found this post helpful especially if you are looking for something in particular which I happened to mention.

P.S. Here is my updated self in cartoon thanks to Bitstrips. Yes, I wear glasses now!

Do you use any of these products? Which ones do you like and which ones not so much?
I’d love to hear about it in the comment section.

Love,
M.

Favourite products at the time

Dearest Ladies,

It’s been a while since I posted on this blog but a few days ago one of my readers made me more aware of this and it sparked a (small) fire for me to post once again. Today I will be mentioning 5 products and a pair of earrings which I have been reaching for very often.
These are the products below…

15061501

Pupa Milano Professionals BB Cream + Anti-Eta’

I was given this product by Pupa Milano in Malta and to be honest I never thought I would like this this much. Mine is in shade 001 Nude. It has SPF 30 which is always a good thing and makes me skip one thing from my routine. It is oil free which makes it perfect for all skin types. It gives a medium coverage which is enough for every day use without being to heavy on the skin. This has become my go to daytime product and has replaced the use of foundation. Oh, and it has a really nice smell… sort of fruity.

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara

15061503

I love this mascara because it makes my tiny lashes appear and look transformed as the name says. It does not give me great length but gives me darkness and volume.

I know the picture quality is very poor (I had to use my selfie camera) but here’s me without mascara and me wearing 2 coats of the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara.

Rimmel London Wonder’full Mascara with Argan Oil

This mascara is a basic day to day mascara I use. Unlike the previous mascara, this one gives me length but not enough volume. However I feel that it is good for every day use and gives very natural looking lashes even if the picture below does not show this clearly. The first picture is me without any mascara.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail color in 170 hot tamale

This colour is so vibrant and solid that I was asked more than once whether I have gelish on while wearing this. I got complimented on this colour several times and it looks great in summer. The colour is a tinge more closer to orange than the way it shows up in the picture as it is hard to capture the colour on camera.

15061505

Pupa Milano New Chic Brilliant Lipstick in 38

This is a coral to red lipstick that suits me and my skin tone well. It’s great for summer as well. The only downside to this is that it doesn’t stay long on the lips and that kind of bothers me because I rarely reapply my lipstick when I’m out. Once I’m out, I’m out and I don’t usually retouch my make up unless I have smudged eyeliner.

15061502

Parfois Earrings

I have been wearing these quite often and I got compliments about them too. I think I got them on sale a while ago. I will definitely be using these as they have become one of my favourite pairs.

That is all from my side… I hope you enjoyed this post.
Have you tried any of these products yourself? What did you think of them? Leave your comments down below.

Most used products in 2014

Dearest Ladies,

I hope January is being kind to you and I wish you luck if January means you have exams coming up!

Over the past year, I haven’t written many reviews so I thought I would list a number of products which I enjoyed last year and used religiously. I tried to include a bit of everything to get a general idea of what I liked. These were my go to products last year:

  •  NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation in 02 Soft Beige
  • Vivo Blush with Highlighter duo in Shade 3 Sweet Peach
  • MAC Frost lipstick in Jist A23
  • Pupa Milano I’m Lipstick in 308 Burgundy
  • Wjcon Lasting colour stick eyeshadow in tiger eye 04
  • Wjcon Lasting colour stick eyeshadow in rose quartz 03
  • Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
  • Essence longlasting eye pencil in 01 black fever
  • e.l.f. Makeup Remover pen
  • e.l.f. Small Angled Brush (for eyebrows)
  • Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (+ most of their core collection and starter set)
  • Pupa Milano Lasting Colour Gel nail polish (I don’t have this one’s number)
  • Pupa Milano Lasting Colour Gel nail polish in 026 California Soul
  • Pupa Milano Gel Top Coat
  • K Co Brow Powder

And to start with Face products…

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation in 02 Soft Beige

I have been using this foundation for over a year. I like it because it matches my skin tone perfectly, is light weight but gives good coverage. Definitely worth a try!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (+ most of their core collection and starter set)

While I love my e.l.f. brushes (I’ve written all about them here), I think I prefer the Real Techniques brushes as I have never had any shedding and I have had them for almost 2 years. I think out of all of them, my favourite is the Expert face brush (which is NOT in the core collection). From the eye set, my favourites have to be the Deluxe Crease Brush and the Base Shadow Brush which is really soft and fluffy.

Vivo Blush with Highlighter duo in Shade 3 Sweet Peach

I love this blush for everyday use and I have finally hit pan. I have nothing similar to this shade and I find that it is quite natural and fits my complexion. I must say that I have so gotten used to this blush, that when I wore a different one, I thought it looked strange on my face. While I love it, I look forward to finishing it so that I move on to other blushes that I haven’t used yet.

And now for Eye products…

Wjcon Lasting colour stick eyeshadow in tiger eye 04 and rose quartz 03

I must say that I really love these products. I use them when I am in a hurry but still want to look like I made an effort. With just these two shadow, I manage to create a simple smokey eye which is wearable day and night. If you want to read more about why I love eyeshadow sticks, click here.

Essence longlasting eye pencil in 01 black fever

This is my go to eyeliner. I have never tried an eyeliner that is better than this especially for applying on the waterline. This doesn’t smudge and I have rather teary eyes but I have never had any problems with this. It’s also really affordable.

e.l.f. Small Angled Brush and K Co Brow Powder

This is a combination of products which I use every single day. I love the brush because it is small enough to give me control over my very thin brows. I also love the brow powder and I have written about it here.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

This is a fantastic mascara. I have very short and light lashes and this manages to give me length, volume and darkness with just a couple of coats. It has a big wand and has normal bristles (it is not made out of plastic or silicone). If you have tiny lashes but like them to show more and in a lovely volumized way, try this out.

e.l.f. Makeup Remover pen

This is a lifesaver when you ruin your liquid eyeliner. It solves the problem instantly and cleans your face up nicely! Definitely a must have! You can get it off the e.l.f. website and I have a hunch that it was actually cheaper on iherb.

And now, Lips…

MAC Frost lipstick in Jist A23

I love this lipstick. It is my first MAC lipstick and the colour is really one of a kind. It has an orange tinge to it which seems to look good with my skin tone. I wear this almost everytime I have a formal occasion as it is quite dressy.

Pupa Milano I’m Lipstick in 308 Burgundy

I had been looking for a dark red lipstick and then Pupa Milano Malta sent me three of their I’m lipsticks. Out of the three, this is my favourite and I have used it quite a bit over the holidays.

And finally, Nail polish…

Pupa Milano Lasting Colour Gel nail polish (Red)

This is a lovely red polish which I have used regularly this year. It was given to me by Pupa Milano Malta and I have really enjoyed it as to me it is the perfect red for a nail polish. I’ve always used this with the Pupa Milano Gel Top Coat as without it, it didn’t last as long.

Pupa Milano Lasting Colour Gel nail polish in 026 California Soul

I actually got this quite recently from Sicily. You can read more about what I got from Sicily here. I haven’t used it much in 2014 simply because I got it in December, but I will definitely use it up this year. This is how it looked on my nails after 9 days, thanks to the Pupa Milano Gel Top Coat. I was given the top coat by Pupa Milano Malta and have always used it with these polishes. It is incredible how long nail polish lasts using this combination of products.

That’s all from my 2014 favourites! Do we have any in common? What have you enjoyed using last year? Let me know in the comment section.

Until the next post…

Love,
M.
