My Current Favourites

Dearest Ladies,

Today I’m back with a post about my current favourite products. Some of them might be relatively new in my collection, while others are products that I rediscovered.

Take a look at the products I’m going to mention today…

The first product I’m going to mention is one that I had also mentioned in my most recent “Favourite products at the time” post.

Pupa Milano Professionals BB Cream + Anti-Eta’

This product has become my go to product. I use this everyday especially because I usually want something lighter than foundation for everyday but would still like a little bit of coverage. I’m also happy about the fact that it has SPF30. Oh, and it smells fantastic!

Clinians HYDRA BASIC Moisturizing Mattifying Face Cream with Apple Water and Zinc

I bought this product on a whim… I urgently needed something moisturizing for my under eyes but as I was looking I saw this face cream and thought it might be a good idea to try it out as well. The product comes in a small glass jar and the cream itself is a pale green. It feels very refreshing on the skin and has a faint fresh smell which I can’t quite put my finger on. I don’t always use this in the morning but when I do, it gets absorbed by the skin rather quickly.

ELIE SAAB le parfum

This was a gift… one of those gifts that I hinted for 😛 I had tried a tester of this perfume and totally fell in love with it and then came the next Christmas or Birthday… and as I had hoped, I got it as a present. I’m not very good at describing perfumes but I can say that it has a sophisticated scent.

I strongly suggest that you go to your closest perfumery and try this out especially if you want to give a loved one a gift they’ll enjoy.

Essence lipliner  shade: 11 in the nude

I apologize but I couldn’t photograph this one well because the text is starting to wear off off the pencil. This is a very basic nude lipliner which I am currently really enjoying using on its own. Stays on for quite a while and looks just right with my skintone. I will definitely try to take a picture the next time I wear it. Oh, and since it was from essence I’m sure it was a steal!

Essence liquid ink eyeliner

I thought I’d give this a try after having seen many bloggers saying good things about it. It has a simple brush applicator that does the job well and is easy to use if you want detail and precision. While I have never tried it myself, there is also the waterproof version of this which comes in blue/black packaging.

KIKO Milano Soft Focus Concealer in shade: 02

I bought this when I was abroad as I had ran out or forgotten to take concealer. I remember the salesman putting it on me after a day full of shopping. I was tired and this definitely gave my undereyes a little wake me up. It’s a pretty regular concealer, nothing out of this world but it does the job. Reminds me of the Catrice Re-Touch Light Reflecting Concealer since the packaging is identical except that for this one you press the bottom of the pen instead of twisting it.

e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

I had this for ages and at the moment I am going through a phase where I’m trying not to buy any new makeup unless I really have to. I have therefore ran out of most of my blushes and decided to give this a try once again. I actually love the blusher. I am not usually keen on shimmer but it doesn’t bother me in this one and I have been using it daily. In a way it highlights the face as well.

I haven’t been using the bronzing powder it comes with because it is also shimmery which is something I’m not sure I can live with.

P.S. This is the first one e.l.f. had. If I remember correctly, after this one they had a range of similar duos in different shades and some of them were cream products.

MAC lipstick in JIST

This is by far my most favourite lipstick in my collection. It is the only MAC one but is always the one that saves the day. When I am in doubt about what colour to go for, I go for this. It’s perfect with a dark smokey eye look. This is a frost lipstick and I think goes very well with my complexion especially now that my hair is more coppery toned.

That’s all I have to say for today! I hope you found this post helpful especially if you are looking for something in particular which I happened to mention.

P.S. Here is my updated self in cartoon thanks to Bitstrips. Yes, I wear glasses now!

Do you use any of these products? Which ones do you like and which ones not so much?
I’d love to hear about it in the comment section.

Would you rather…

Dearest Ladies,

I hope the week is being kind to you! I am finally feeling more relaxed, and I can focus all of my energy on an exam which I will be sitting for soon, and on my dissertation! (Yay…) But I will be blogging in my deserved breaks 🙂

Today I have something different for you… It’s actually a really fun post which I saw on The Oxford Owl, which is another blog  I have discovered just this week! I will be answering a number of “Would you rather” questions which were provided! 🙂 I really hope you enjoy reading my answers and feel free to answer it on your blog and share the link in the comment section below!

Here we go…

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I would rather lose eyeshadows and palettes. I can make a look work without they anyway, but I cannot do much with JUST eyeshadow 🙂 I don’t have any glosses to lose anyway but with just mascara, eyeliner and lipstick, I can still pull off a decent look, and so can you!

This is one of my simplest, everyday looks (no eyeshadow was used!): Click Me!

Simple and Natural!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I would rather chop it all off! After all it will grow back IF I choose this option.

P.S. I did chop all of my hair off, a number of times – and I’ll probably do it again!
But I’m in the ‘long-hair’ phase now and I kinda like it 🙂

Blast from the past:

3-4 years ago 🙂

me being ‘funny’ and a chicken nugget – approx 5 years ago!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

That’s a weird question, isn’t it? Who cares? haha
But if I HAVE To choose, probably coral – I might need lighter coloured hair and blue eyes to go with it though 😛

4. If you had 1,000$ to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Probably clothes… But if I had the option (which I don’t), I would be boring and save it – I’m saving up for a number of things at the moment, I’ll let you know all about it in due time 😉

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

I would rather not do any of these… :O
I think lipstick is usually too creamy to be worn on the lids, unless it’s a matte lipstick and is therefore a tad drier. I guess I’d wear eyeliner as lipstick if I HAD TO – I hope I won’t have to…

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Both are quite awesome, right? I’ve shopped at MAC when in London and I liked their items so much… So if I HAVE TO choose just one, I’d try the brand I have already tried. I’m almost sure I’ll like Sephora too though… :/

I got the little bath tub from Sephora – but I didn’t get any products…

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

Well if I have a neutral lipstick, I can do any look with it… and with just black eyeshadow, there are still a number of things you can do. This is tough, but I choose ONE lipstick, just in case I feel like something different on my eyes.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in winter?

Neither. But, winter clothes in summer – I’d rather be a bit sweaty then shiver to death! 🙂

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Well… I’d say nude is better but it’s neither dark nor bright. So I choose Dark. If I chose Bright, it would be a Red shade… but what if I get fed up of it? I get fed up of my nail polish colour twice weekly 😛

As you know, I am a bit obsessed – click this link if you forgot how obsessed I am:  I am obsessed.

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

I’d give up my favourite lip product. That can be replaced, favourite eye product(s), not so much!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

A messy bun if it’s Summer time – I’d need to learn how to do it though. I can only wear my hair in a neat bun, using the donut! (See tutorial here)

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Lipgloss – I don’t use it anyway!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

Erm… My brows are naturally a too thin, and it’s not cause I over pluck. I would love to improve their shape, but a Sharpie Permanent Marker? :O Still, it’s better than no brows at all, I guess! I’ll see if I can make it work, but it’s ‘permanent’!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nailpolish?

This is hard… I need make up more than I need nail polish. Well, NEED is not a good word… Make up gives me a boost, it enhances my features. So yes, I can look a lot better with makeup, and well, I CAN live withOUT nail polish – It’ll make me make sure my nails look naturally great 😉

I really hope you liked this post 🙂 I’m off to another date with my dear boyfriend – check out what I wore to the last one by clicking here: OOTD – Date Night + Handbag Tag

It’s finally SUSHI night again 😀

I really hope I do not have any dumb mistakes, I’m soon heading out and I didn’t have time to proofread this one – OOPS! I just wanted to post it,  cause if I postpone… well, you know what happens! Forgive me if I have sinful typos and such.

What I wore to the New Designers’ Fashion Show

Hey Ladies!

I hope you are all doing great. I must admit, I am knackered! Malta Fashion Week has been fun but it has also been really hectic! Blogging till 3 am in the morning has its toll on you especially if you have to wake up early the next day. So yes, my sleeping pattern is a lot more than broken.

In fact I said I would post this OOTN earlier but I didn’t. I have abandoned the May Photo a Day Challenge, I am late again! But I will get everything back on track again soon! I have limited myself to the Malta Fashion Week posts alone just for this week which are all listed below:

So this is what I wore to the New Designers Show.

Make Up and OOTD featuring my Snow Traffic Dress

Hey Ladies! 🙂

So a while back I shared with you my most favourite pieces from Snow Traffic Fashion London. This was the post here.

As a thank you for promoting their pieces, the lovely people at Snow Traffic offered to send me a piece of my choice 🙂  I chose the dress shown at number 9 in my post.

I was also invited to a bloggers’ event last week, and I wrote about it here.

What do you think about the make up? I think the mascara gave me unnaturally longer clumpy lashes… so I’ll have to be more careful with layering up that mascara with multiple coats. What do you think about the outfit? Would you wear this dress differently? Let me know, I love to hear your thoughts! 🙂

Review for Vivo Blush and Highlighter Duo

Hey Ladies!

So as I told you before, today is procrastination day! This is why I am posting so much!
I have reviewed the Glamour Doll Volume Mascara by Catrice here, and then I showed you a nail look which I called My Mirror Broke, here.

Insted of getting back to my work, I will now be reviewing a blusher. A while back I got a number of things from Vivo which is a sister company to MUA. You can see all of the items in this haul with initial impressions here.

This is all I got from Vivo:

2013-03-08 09.34.17
You can read my review for the Vivo matte foundation here. I have come to love this blusher and highlighter duo. In fact it wasn’t hard to love it at all! I apply it using my e.l.f. Studio Face Kabuki Brush shown here, and I wore it here and here and in some other posts too.

It has been featured in my March Favourites post here and will probably feature this month too. It is my go to blush ever since I got it. The shade I got is called Sweet Peach.

This is what it looks like and a couple of swatches:

2013-03-08 09.56.29 2013-03-08 09.57.24

  • It it a duo and has a lightly shimmery highlighter on the side
  • Sleek Packaging
  • Relative cheap for a duo
  • Beautiful peachy colour
  • Completely matte

  • Regular staying power (3-4hrs max.)

The all.things.lady Verdict:

Fantastic product!
