Eau Thermale Avène – Tolerance Extreme Range: A review

Dear Ladies,

A while back I told you about what went on at the Eau Thermale Avène and Lierac bloggers’ event. You can read and see snaps from the evening over here. After having used many of the products which I was given religiously, a new post was due.

Eau Thermale Avène is one of Europe’s top dermatology & hydrotherapy brands using active thermal spring water and as few ingredients as possible. The products are aimed to target sensitive skin but can be used by everyone. Avène Thermale Spring water is believed to have healing and calming properties which soothe the skin and prevent it from becoming irritated.

The Tolerance range immediately caught my eye. It is a range that “respects your skin’s physiology” while providing a soothing sensation as well as hydration.

Initially I tried the Tolerance Extreme Cream in Rich Texture. I enjoyed this very much and it is in fact quite rich. Since my face isn’t very dry, it was a bit heavy for me to use in the morning before foundation. I thought it would be better for me to use it as a night cream. That’s when I decided to try the Emlusion (Light Texture) to possibly use in the morning.

I tried the Emulsion and fell in love with its’ consistency. It gets absorbed very quickly without leaving your face feeling greasy. I started applying this daily in the morning before applying my foundation.

As for my evening routine, I have been using the Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Lotion. This is a 200ml tube of goodness! Nothing feels more soothing on your face then this cleanser, after a day at work where the ACs tend to suck in all the moisture! This cleanses all of my make up, including eye-make up and the most stubborn liquid lipsticks. It leaves my face feeling clean and well hydrated.

Following toner application (I wish that there was a toner from Avène!), I apply the Rich Cream in the evening as a moisturizer. It does not feel heavy at night since it has more time to be absorbed and it leaves my skin hydrated up until the moment I wake up.

What I haven’t told you yet is that this range comes with D.E.F.I packaging (Device for Exvlusive Formula Integrity). This packaging ensures that the product remains sterile and no bacteria from the outside gets in. Thanks to this packaging the product can be free from preservatives and is protected throughout the whole use.

There is also a masque in this range which I look forward to purchasing and trying out.

I have been really enjoying this brand and have seen changes in my skin, where it is looking more vibrant and clearer altogether. Ever since I started using Avène products, most days I do not feel like I need to put on foundation as my skin has been looking so much better.

I cannot recommend this brand enough… The products are rich and provide you with all day hydration and no irritation. Most of all it is great to know that you are not putting any “dodgy” ingredients on your skin, including preservatives.

Oh and for you ladies, I have 5 10% off vouchers to be used on Eau Thermale Avène products from selected pharmacies in Malta*. The first 5 of you readers to share this post on their Facebook account will get a voucher 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this post and get sharing!

*Vouchers can only be distributed to readers living in Malta.

At the Eau Thermale Avène and Lierac Paris Bloggers’ Night

Good evening Ladies,

About a month ago, I was invited to a bloggers’ night by PharmaMT. The event was aimed to help us get to know all about Eau Thermale Avène and Lierac Paris. We had a presentation about each brand going into the ranges of products, who they are aimed at and what concern they are targeting. We had the opportunity to swatch and sample some of the products, noting the texture and effect of the products.

Here are some snaps from the evening:

It was a fun event which started with prosecco and sushi and ended with generous gift bags. We were lucky to have been given a number of products to try out, most of which I have been using religiously. I look forward to revieiwing these products and let you know all about the Lierac and Eau Thermale Avène staples in my skincare routine.

You can find these brands in various drugstores around Malta. If you want to get to know more about these brands, make sure to like their pages here:

Have you ever tried any products by Avène and Lierac? I’ve learnt that they’re exactly what my skin needs. Stay tuned for my reviews!

At the ‘Declaré Cosmetics Beauty Training Seminar’

Dearest Ladies,

A few days before Easter I was invited to two beauty seminars hosted by Paloma Cosmetics Limited. Each seminar tackled a different brand, these being Declaré and Juvena. Unfortunately I only managed to attend the Declaré seminar but this is what went on during the day at St. Angelo in Birgu…

The view just outside the Conference Room

We were greeted with breakfast with scrumptious pastries and fresh strawberries after which the seminar began. Declaré is a luxurious brand from Switzerland which started out in 1978 as a brand that caters especially for sensitive skin. This is every product’s focus.

The products have SRC – complex which means that they have a Sensitivity Reduction Complex, working against itchiness, redness, dryness, unevenness, large pores… and helping the skin to protect itself. All the products are dermatologically tested with some of them being allergen free and free from fragrances, all of them working on a long term effect on the skin.

There a number of different ranges focusing on different desired effects on the skin:

  • Allergy Balance (Containing no fragrances, preservatives or colorants)
  • Soft Cleansing
  • Eye Contour
  • Stress Balance
  • Pure Balance (Containing no alcohol)
  • Pro Youthing (Anti-aging)
  • Hydro Balance
  • Vital Balance
  • Age Control
  • Caviar Perfection (Most luxurious of all!)
  • Definite White (Targeting pigmentation)

The event went on with the speaker going through the products in all of the ranges, giving us the opportunity to test them out on our skin to feel the effect of each product. We then stopped for a lunch break and later for lunch where we were greeted with a wow factor.. These below are Molecular Cocktails made from Prickly Pear and Strawberry Liqueur. The lime gives a twist to the bubble which you then burst in your mouth to be able to get to the flavour 😉

After the lunch break we went on to an explanation about what happens in salons and how one should go about working with clients and suggesting products. I had the chance to undergo skin analysis which showed that I have dehydrated skin which is a bit sensitive but otherwise quite healthy.

Upon leaving we were each given a bag with some products to try out which I look forward to reviewing in the future. These are the products we were given:

It was a very enjoyable event and also very informative. While I have already used the products a few times, I look forward to testing them out long term to be able to give a balanced opinion in my reviews.

Stay tuned if you want to know more about Declaré and how their products helped my skin!

all.things.lady’s first Birthday!

Dearest Ladies,

Today happens to be a very special day for this blog!

first birthday

I cannot believe it’s been a year already!
I remember going over names for the blog in my head so vividly…
I guess it’s true, time flies when you’re having fun!

I wanted to say thank you to all of my readers for all of the support throughout this year!
It has been a great journey and the response I got from all of you always kept me going.

P.S. I’m thinking about having a small giveaway to celebrate one year of blogging.
Don’t forget to like my Facebook Page  all.things.lady to always be updated.
I’ll be writing about the birthday giveaway in the coming days.

Once again: THANK YOU!

Of Blogging and Friendship

Dearest Readers,

It’s becoming quite important to me not to write just about beauty. Today I have a few positive thoughts I’d like to share with you ladies (and gents – yes I know that there are a few, but Shhh… 😉 ). I’m also going to mention other beauty/fashion blogs I know you’d love!

I have been blessed with a number of lovely people, and it’s all thanks to blogging.

I’ve got some incredibly loyal readers around the globe. They always make my day by commenting on each and every post and some of them aren’t just followers anymore. They look out for me and offer advice when I need it: they support me. This makes me feel happy and appreciated. One of the 1st persons that come to mind is Marilyn (Mammulikes). She’s my foreign-blogger-other-half 🙂 I love her blog and she’s also always here giving me feedback on my posts. I truly value her presence on my blog and in my life!

Of course there are so many other foreign bloggers which I always love to hear from!

With regards to Maltese Fashion/Beauty Bloggers…

This summer I’ve been to London (IMATS) with Martina (All Things Fabulous) and Marija (Pocalocca). Not only was it great fun, I also got to know them better and they have definitely become friends. Martina invited us over and we also got to know her family which was lovely! It was also fun to be there for Martina’s Surprise Birthday Party this year.

One of my favourite London Photos: Us three before heading out to raid the shops!

I cannot NOT mention Stephanie (Think.Love.Makeup.) – Me and her really hit it off, and it all started with a simple Facebook chat. She is usually the one I am standing next to at bloggers’ events! Nowadays I consider her as one of my most awesome friends – True, we don’t get to meet very often, but we’re always in contact, wishing each other a good day or week, sharing funny stories, pouring our hearts out – I never get bored 🙂 And I miss her when we haven’t talked for a few days.

Mentioning names scares me! I love all of my (blogger) friends but I’m afraid I might have forgotten to include someone! I do need to mention Lorainne (Lola Loves Sparkles) (also in the photo), Kylie (Passion to Beauty), Dorianne (Ask Dorianne) who’s become one of my most influential friends when it comes to advice (Thanks Dor xxx), Lara (Every Beauty Addict’s Bible), Davi (Lady with no name) and Jasmine, of course! – (Babacroc) – She’s got one of the most fun YouTube channels! I got to know these ladies through blogging, and while they all bring something different to the table, they are also lovely ladies to get to know 🙂

Then there are those who I don’t get to meet so often (some of them are in the picture above). But when we do meet, it’s always lovely to chat with these ladies too! (These are in no particular order)

Even if I don’t get to see them regularly, at least I get to see them at bloggers’ events. It’s always fun to catch up when we meet!

Of course, I cannot end this post without mentioning Dyna (Dyna’s random blog)! I was recently invited to her baby shower. It was so sweet of her to invite me and the other bloggers. I had so much fun chatting to all of the other ladies present, and we all oooohed and aaahhhed at the tiny (baby) items Dyna got as presents 🙂

To Conclude…

When I started blogging, I never thought it would be more than just that: blogging. I was clearly wrong!

Most of these people aren’t just fellow bloggers anymore.
These people are part of my life now.

And I am forever grateful!

P.S. Since I am only human… I might have forgotten to include you (and it’s not because I don’t think of you as one of my blogger friends) :/ I’m so sorry if that’s the case… Drop me a line and your link will definitely be added here too! xxx
